Protex 2 Everlast Boxing Gloves Review

The gloves I checked out were the 14 ounce, large/extra large size of the Protex 2 training gloves by Everlast. The L/XL is on the smaller side, so if you're unsure of whether or not you want to get a Medium or a Large, you should definitely get the bigger size.

After strapping them on and starting to use them, I noticed that these Everlast boxing gloves were padded fantastically. They use what Everlast calls their "Evergel" technology, and it really minimizes the impact of each of your punches. My knuckles always get beat up when I use the heavy bag, but they escaped pretty unharmed with these on.

I also noticed how compact, tight and crisp these gloves felt. In other words, even though these are heavy bag gloves, and they are weighted a bit extra, they have a very professional style of fit and feel. So that's great for practice and training as well, and really helps you to keep on honing your skills even though you're protecting yourself and working the bag.

On the inside of the glove you'll also see a mesh lining. This helps to keep your hands cool and dry while you're working out, which is another nice benefit. I also noticed that the area around the wrists and the bottom of the hand has some extra support and material there. This helps to stabilize the wrists and to prevent injury, and when you punch you feel really secure.

If gloves are loose or unsupported there, your wrists could move too much and you could end up with some pain or a serious injury to that area. That's not really a problem when you're tying gloves tightly around for sparring or fighting, but velcro gloves for training are prone to that issue. But these Everlast boxing gloves for training took care of that, and it felt comfortable for my hands and wrists regardless of what punches or combinations I was throwing.

All told, I would definitely recommend the Protex 2 Training Gloves with my Everlast boxing gloves review. They felt great, they provide excellent padding and support, and they have a nice, compact feel. These Everlast boxing gloves also seem well made, so they'll hold up for a while, and they are pretty affordable, which means you don't have to shell out too much cash in order to get your hands on them.
